Music choices

I have a varied taste in music. I don’t stick to one genre, I like different things depending on my mood! There’s only a few things I’m not keen on… Most types of jazz being one of them – sorry jazz lovers! The other thing I’m not a fan of is some of James’s heavier bands… Ones with swear words as names and things that don’t sound real πŸ˜‚ there’s alot of noise and grunting, which James loves but my ears – not so much! But it’s OK to be different!

My all time favourite band that I will never ever grow sick of are Reel Big Fish. I strongly recommend you check them out if you haven’t already. They feature in one of my all time favourite films BASEketball (although not in my top 3… In the top 10 I would say!) it’s hilarious and fun and definitely worth a watch. If you like a bit of ska punk, then you should like Reel Big Fish! I’ve seen them live quite a few times and never seen a bad show. It’s still one of the few things that come on Spotify or my ipod playlist that I won’t skip! And I love singing to the brass parts! πŸ˜‚

Another favourite of mine is Frank Turner. I got to see him love a few years ago now and I loved every second of it! He has some really varied sounds across the years, and I actually enjoy it all. Definitely one to check out, especially his Tape Deck Heart album, and Negative Songs for Positive people. Or it might be Positive Songs for Negative People… My mind has blanked and I’m sadly too lazy to check which is right 😬

In my teens in the 2000s… And I mean year 2000 😳 I started high school. This opened my eyes to music I had never heard before! I had been all about the cheesy teen pop of the Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys and Five, and now was coming across bands like Slipknot, Linkin Park and Rammstein. These definitely opened a new wave of music for me, and I definitely enjoyed discovering and listening to heavier music at that time. I listen to it rarely now as it’s easier to just get pop music on Spotify with Logan around but when I hear a classic tune I still love it!

Last year we were actually lucky enough to go see Rammstein live at Milton Keynes Stadium, an amazing experience! I think James enjoyed it, the pyrotechnics were incredible and we had a dry evening so really lucked in!

I have been lucky enough to see Alot of bands I love over the years, and have been to Latitude Festival and Reading Festival twice! Many years ago now but hoping to one day be able to take Logan to experience them!

What bands have you seen that you have enjoyed? Or any unusual music tastes?
