Counting

I have lived the last 6 ish years of my life counting. I’ve always enjoyed counting down to things, a gig coming up or a holiday or trip away… it’s amazing how when it comes to fertility the count down is often no longer fun but overwhelming and daunting!

We had to count down to initial infertility appointments… then count down to the first explorative surgery…. count down to being healed… count down to going to the fertility clinic… count down to the first cycle of IVF…. count down to each step of that treatment… count down to the test which was negative…. count down to the second surgery…. count down to being healed…. count down to going back to the fertility clinic… count down to starting again… count down to each step of the second cycle of IVF… count down to the test which was positive…. count down to the due date…

Now we count up… and somehow we are at 13 weeks old / 2 months! For those reading who have children… out of interest how do count their months? I was originally counting 4 weeks as 1 month until it was pointed out that counting like that means Logan would be 13 months old by his 1st birthday which is impossible as not all months have 4 weeks… so now I count weekly, and the months I count as the 4th of every month as he was born 4th June!

I will go into all my countdowns in far more detail in time. But enough rambling for now! 💙

  1. Hey I counted in weeks til he was a year then did months til he was 2 then just said 2 1/2 or just 3 etc no one cares much after that! Although you as a parent do!! And it starts to get confusing for everyone especially when things ( toys or clothing) start using weeks / months / years/hours and minutes to give you age guides!🤦🏼‍♀️😆
